Math and Science Graduate Studies

Since 1985 the Mathematics and Science Education Center at Appalachian State University has, in cooperation with the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Office of Extension and Distance Education, sponsored off-campus evening classes for math and science teachers in the northwest region of North Carolina. In recent years the classes have been in the area of mathematics. The offerings are graduate level and may be taken as a part of the master's degree requirement in mathematics education, to fill gaps in mathematics teacher's content background, or merely as enrichment classes for the teacher. (For those teachers interested in the graduate degree, some coursework must be taken on campus because certain graduate mathematics classes are not currently offered on an off-campus basis.)
