This concentration offers students opportunities
to gain knowledge and skills in the design, production
and evaluation of educational/instructional media appropriate
for application in a variety of employment contexts. This
program is designed for:
Emphasis is placed upon hands-on design and
production of media and technology that will effectively
meet communication needs in the teaching/training process.
The area's theoretical base fuses the field of instructional
technology with mass media research to provide a holistic
perspective on the role of media and technology in American
society. This concentration does not lead to North Carolina
licensure.

Program Delivery:
The courses required for the MA degree in Educational
Media: Instructional Technology Specialist / Media Production
are delivered via the Internet and are ones whereby students
and faculty work together as a community of learners. Students
must have access to the Internet and basic computer skills.
One to two courses will be made available each semester,
and the program is two to three years in length. The courses
in each cohort will be offered only once, so a student
must be prepared to take the courses as they are made available.
Requirements for Admission:
In order to be considered for admission to this program,
an individual must possess a bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university. In addition to the application
form, applicants must present Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
scores or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores and three
letters of recommendation. A candidate will be selected
based upon the strength of her/his undergraduate career,
GRE or MAT test scores, and endorsements expressed in the
letters of recommendation.
