What are the costs?
Current costs are $55 per semester hour (for an in-state student)
for instruction and textbook rental. Other costs include the purchase
of paperback texts or supplemental materials as required by the
instructor.
Who may enroll?
Seniors at participating high schools who meet requirements
for admission to Appalachian and have the recommendation
of the high school counselor.
Who are the instructors?
Outstanding teachers in the high school who have been recommended
by the high school principal and screened and approved by
the appropriate department at Appalachian as an adjunct Appalachian
member. An Appalachian faculty member serves as instructional
advisor for each class and assists with instructional materials,
techniques, and departmental policies.
After high school graduation, what are the
options?
Given successful completion of coursework, students enrolled
in APP may continue their studies on the Appalachian campus without
further application. Or, students may transfer their Appalachian
credits to other selected colleges and universities of their choice.
How are students classified?
Upon acceptance to the Admissions Partnership Program, the student
is officially a provisionally-accepted Appalachian freshman while
at the same time a senior at his/her high school. The student
has an Appalachian transcript, earns credits and a grade point
average the same as any other Appalachian freshman.
How do students apply?
Applications will be distributed to students at a junior
class meeting held at their high school during fall semester. |
